Pintura: Applying hair color using the patented Deva Combrush to capture the hair’s movement and texture while emphasizing light and tone. The final result is a three-dimensional work of curl art that achieves perfect color, harmony and balance.
I learned the pintura technique a few years ago, and I’ll be honest sitting in the class learning it at the time I thought it was just something someone had made up and decided to capitalize on, like everything else in this world. I’m glad to say that this technique is something that I have came to really love. Pintura is really good for wavy to coil curl patterns. It allows you to highlight the hair curl by curl without fully saturating the hair strand. This is amazing because, when using the traditional foil technique over time the hair strand becomes dry and brittle from the color and or bleach being absorbed through the hair. I can definitely see and feel the difference between the two techniques on my clients hair. This never gets dry and dull looking. I recommend to almost everyone, If you are straight this could come out a little chunky which is not a problem if you are going for more of a bold look.
