Summer is finally right around the corner, so that means hot sweaty humid days which isn’t always the best for maintaining our natural hair. Here are a few tips that will help you and your natural hair make through the hot humid summer.
Smaller Sections
When styling your hair in rods and twist taking smaller sections allows the style to last longer by giving her curls more hold.
Styling WET hair
Styling your hair wet or damp does open the door for a little more shrinkage, but it also make it where the humidity in the air doesn’t carry your hair away. Water weighs the hair down which cuts back on frizz.
Take Down
Taking down twist or rods with heavy oils such as: olive oil and coconut oil
is another way to take down the hair without causing frizz. Using oil as your finisher also coats the hair protecting it from unwanted humidity.
Re-twisting twist at night
Re- twisting the hair allows the curl to set and keep its formation. So by doing this at night with a little defining cream or oil gives you longevity in your style and it puts the moisture back into the hair, giving it time to penetrate in the hair as you sleep.
